Julia ‘Juulz’ Driessen is a Dutch pianist, organist, keyboard player and songwriter. She makes rock/blues music, inspired by Jon Lord (Deep Purple), Gregg Rolie (Santana), Billy Preston, Chuck Leavell (Rolling Stones), Herman Brood and Freddy Mercury (Queen).
Juulz started her musical career during high school, playing in several blues, rock and funk cover bands. When she started her study Medicine in 2015, she continued with music just like before. During the first year of her study, she became part of the Dutch rock band Uncle Jimmy. With this band, she played approximately 50 shows a year, often crossing the borders to Germany. In 2017 they released an EP, Moon Child, and in 2018 a single, Optical Illusion. They did shows on Culemborg Blues, Amsterdam Kookt, Countdown café Radio Veronica, Nispen Blues, Dicky Woodstock pop festival, Popweekend Schagen, and Vollmershain Open Air (DE).
In the summer of 2019, Juulz was asked to join the last part of the world tour of the Australian hardrock band Wolfmother. She toured with Wolfmother through Italy, Switserland, Spain, Israël and Australia and did shows on very large festivals such as Mad Cool Festival Madrid and Splendour in the Grass Byron Bay.
Juulz worked together with: Tim Ries (The Rolling Stones), WOLFMOTHER, Lachy Doley, Avi Rosenfeld, Piano Man Band, Moondaze, Tragacanth and Blues Dog. In 2017, she did a demo for Hammond Europe at Musikmesse in Frankfurt (DE).
She is currently working on a solo album and is doing session work for several bands/projects.
